Down Time

The day before the tournament. It’s usually a rest day, down time and the opportunity to relax.

I’m sitting on the eighth floor of my hotel, in the sun next to the pool. Which is kind of fantastic except that I’m here by myself. Emma and the boys are fast asleep (Perth time) and I feel that I should be doing more … not too sure what however I always feel bad leaving my family at home to travel and compete.

I don’t think that I’ll do this again without them.

Then there is the times rushing through customs, the huge lines going through immigration and getting on board the plane - this I wouldn’t wish on anyone!

It’s kind of a balance, getting the mind and body right before I compete. Not over doing, not under doing it … Just bring ready.
